In Stimulus 2,000 Stimulus Check Battle, GOP challenges Nancy Pelosi to reconsider foreign aid
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-California. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) called.) To consider the" concerns " expressed by President Donald Trump about foreign aid included in the bill financing government associated with relief efforts to the recent COVID-19.
McCarthy made the remarks in an open letter to his Republican House colleagues, which he shared on Twitter Wednesday night, saying that "Democrats seem to be suffering from a selective hearing" by adopting Trump's recent call to increase stimulus relief checks from 6 6,600 to.2,000. McCarthy insisted that Pelosi and others agree with Trump's request to" revisit taxes wasted abroad " before pledging to change the foreign aid provisions included in the big spending bill.
"House Republicans tried to pass relief more than forty times, but each time, Speaker Pelosi ignored our citizens, saying "nothing is better than nothing,"McCarthy wrote in the letter. "Pelosi has tried to use the American people as leverage to make coronavirus relief conditional on government funding-which includes billions in foreign aid at a time when there are pressing needs at home."
He added:" I ignore [House Democrats] concerns expressed by the president, participated by our constituents". "Thus, Republicans will submit a unanimous consent request to review the State address and foreign operations at the mosque so that we can fully address the concerns raised. It will be up to Speaker Pelosi to decide whether you want to act on behalf of the American people."

The legislation passed includes a Cov 900 billion COVID-19 stimulus package as part of a larger government funding bill with a total value of 2 2.3 trillion. Included in the Finance Bill about 4 million of aid in foreign aid, less than 0.3 percent of the 1.4 trillion trillion in funding is not a sign stimulus package. Foreign aid is not uncommon in large government spending legislation and the figures in the current bill are largely in line with Trump's State Department proposals.
