The best of cheesy Christmas movies
There are a few undeniable classic Christmas movies.

I think it's a wonderful life. Think elf. No mention of love in fact we don't have time to get into it now.

But once you've seen the classic, there's a whole new genre that gets stuck in over your mulled wine.

Type is probably the best description of the word "cheesy".

Maybe you can guess some plotlines.

The successful city girl returns to her hometown for Christmas and ends up rediscovering a) the true meaning of the season and B) her still hot high school boyfriend.

Then there's the one where Girl Meets Boy who turns out to be a prince. Or the widow of a man who learns to love again.

The Hallmark Channel and Omar in the United States are the most famous for making these films.

But now that all streaming services have added original and background catalogs , it's easier than ever for us.

Whether you want to admit to being a fan is up to you, but we've picked some of the best. And look, no one needs to know that you read this article.

Gwen Stefani can admit to being a fan , so you can. She told the Hallmark Channel, she gets "sucked" into movies while cooking

"And I thought," Oh, this is really mind-numb good " then I went through the back catalogue of Christmas movies is just terrible.

Lian's top recommendation is to hold Christmas.

It stars Hillary Burton One Tree Hill Tyler Hilton, who was a great equalizer Lian.

"I really like this one because it made me think that this is made for people who grew up with this show or why have these two in it?

"It's perfect."

It tells a familiar story of a newly single woman who fears the idea of returning to her hometown for Christmas.

Of course her ex-boyfriend there with his new girlfriend.

"The idea of returning to your hometown and seeing your former partner is actually really awful when you think about it," laughs Leanne.

"Can you think of anything worse than that?  But for whatever reason it works just fine."

Candace Cameron Bure's ninth festive film came out this year for the Hallmark Channel-if only I had Christmas.

She plays a "cheerful" publicist who teams up with a cynical employer to help a charity in need at Christmas time.

But she also traveled back in time in "a journey back to Christmas" and exchanged places with her twin sister turned up to Christmas.

One we recommend though is Christmas shoe addict-it takes on a Christmas Carol but with lots of shoes.

"I think they all feel the first success, I think Netflix was surprised by how popular it is.

"They know what they're doing, they know why people love and see how far they can push it."

It seems that Netflix is trying to create a Christmas movie universe with some crossover seen among a few of their original films.

For example, the king and Queen of the Dauphin are spotted from the Christmas Prince at the coronation of Queen Margaret in the princess turned back.

As well as the predictable but reassuring plotlines, they are all visually stunning, beautifully decorated houses and towns and of course there is always snow.

This is something that appeals to teachers Rebecca Adams.

"I love Christmas lights and wreaths, he is very bright and he is very happy and very cheerful."She explains.

Rebecca recommends a Christmas Train. I wonder where the train is going? You guessed it, return to the hometown of the weary main character for Christmas.

It stars Dermot Mulroney, who I think Rebecca from the TV show New Girl.

"He is a famous actor , he was also in friends," she explains.

"So I thought that if this famous guy was in it, it should be a good but very cheesy movie , however, I watched the whole movie and absolutely loved it."
